Troubleshoot problems with Yahoo verification codes and links.
On occasion, we will send a verification code or link to your mobile phone number or email address to protect your account and make sure you are the person trying to access your account. If the code or URL does not work or you do not receive it, check the following information to see what might be causing the problem.
Did not receive a verification code?
- Click Resend within the first 5 minutes. If you still don't get the code, check if any of the following situations apply to you: -
- A landline phone is used: SMS codes can only be sent to mobile numbers.
- Device issues: make sure your plan has not reached the shipping data limit.
- The contact information is incorrect: make sure your mobile phone number or alternate email address is correct.
- Problems with email: Make sure your alternate email address has not been deleted, that the email is not in your spam folder, and that your ISP does not block Yahoo.
Other verification problems
- The verification link is no longer valid: the URL has expired and you must request a new one.
- You cannot obtain a verification code because you forgot that your password and recovery information is incorrect. You will have to create a new account.
