If you feel that your photos have run out, take them to the next level by adding background music. You can use a song stored on your device or select one of your favorite streaming applications. If you have the premium version of the YouTube application, you can also use it.

ADD MUSIC FROM YOUR PHONE

Add music from your phone to your snapshots can be done in two ways: through the native music application of your phone or a third-party application The process is almost the same in both cases, so we will cover them as one. Here is how to add music from your phone to your snapshots.

1. Start the music application of your choice.

2. Browse through the music library and find the song you would like to add to your add-on. Tap on it.

3. Touch the pause button as soon as the song starts playing.

4. Then, touch the “Start” button to exit the music application but to leave it active in the background. Do not kill the application.

5. Touch the “Snapchat” icon to start the application.

6. The first thing you will see is the view of your camera. Switch between the front and rear cameras if needed.

7. If you are using an iOS device, slide up from the bottom. This will open the Control Center. If you’re on an Android device, you want to swipe down from the top to open the Notification Center. In both cases, you will see the song you have chosen for your choice. Adjust the slider to find the right part of the song.

8. Touch the “Play” button to start playing the song.

9. Close the Control or Notification center when the song starts to play.

10. You will see the Snapchat recording panel again. Touch and hold the “Record” button near the bottom of the screen to start recording.

11. Once you’re done, lift your finger off the “Record” button. You will notice that the outer circle of the button is slowly turning red as the second's pass. When it is full, the video will stop recording automatically.

12. Snapchat will play the video for you. The part of the song that was being played while recording will be captured. If you can not hear the sound, turn off the Snapchat app.

13. When you finish playing, touch the small arrow icon in the lower right corner of the screen to send the video you just made to your friends.

14. Choose a name or names from the list of your contacts and touch the checkboxes next to their names.

15. Touch the “Send” button. When they open the plug-in, their friends will listen to the music in the background of the video.

ADDING MUSIC FROM A STREAMING SERVICE

If you do not have the song that you would like to use downloaded, you may want to list your favorite streaming application or even YouTube. While most streaming applications, such as Spotify and Pandora, can play your music in the background, the free YouTube application can not. You will need the premium version for that.

Follow these steps to learn how to make snapshots with music from your favorite broadcast service.

1. Start the streaming application of your choice.

2. Explore the application or your channel and playlists to find the song you want to use for your new add-on.

3. Once you have found it, touch the “Play” button.

4. Then, tap the “Pause” button to stop the song as soon as it starts.

5. Leave the application, but do not kill it.

6. Locate the Snapchat icon and touch it to start the application.

7. As in the previous method, you will see the screen of the camera when the application is opened. Select the camera you want to use and adjust the lighting.

8. If you are using an iPhone, slide up to open the Control Center. On an Android device, swipe down from the top to open the Notification Center.

9. Move the slider to find the part of the song you want to use and touch the “Play” button.

10. Exit the Control Center or Notification.

11. Press and hold the “Record” button to start recording your snap.

12. To stop recording, release your finger from the “Record” button.

13. Once the recording stops, Snapchat will play the video immediately.

14. When the video ends, touch the “Send” icon in the lower right corner.
