Add two-step verification for added security in Yahoo account
Enable two-step verification to require a code (in addition to your password) every time an attempt is made to log in from a new device or browser. We will send you a text message or call you with a new code that you must enter when you log in. The phone number with which we communicate may be different each time.
- Log in and go to the security page of your account.
- Next to "Two-step verification," click the Switch button to activate it. Image of the toggle button in the On position.
- Enter your cell number.
- Click Send SMS or Call me to get a verification code.
- Enter the verification code, then click Verify.
- If you access Yahoo Mail in third-party applications, click Create application passwords or click Skip for now.
