If you use Snapchat regularly and have many friends, the names to display can quickly become a disaster. While some people use their regular names as good social citizens, others feel the need to change them by non-descriptive nicknames that can create confusion about who is sending a snapshot. If you prefer the order in your Snapchat universe, you can easily override your chosen display name in favor of one of your own creation.

This is how you can add display name:

1. Access the Snapchat settings

2. Add or edit your name to display

The first two account settings you’ll see are Name followed by Username. Keep in mind that if you tap your username, you can not do anything with it, except sharing it through a different application.

· Tap Name.

· On the next tab, add or edit your Name and Last Name field. If you wish, you can leave the Last Name field blank.

· Touch the Save button that appears when you have made the changes.

3. Take a look at your profile to see your new name to show

As long as you have something saved in the Name fields as shown in the last step, it will appear in all the chats and stories of your friends instead of your username.

The only time a friend can see your username is when they open a chat with you and touch the hamburger icon in the upper left corner to open a short summary of their profile (showing their access code, name, name of user, adjustment score and chat emojis) or when they touch their Name to show when they are looking for friends.

Once you have saved your name to display, you can use the backward arrows at the top left of the screen to navigate back to your profile and see that your new name appears below your access code (above your username) and rating).

4. Optional: Be prepared to manually add all your friends to a new account

Although the display name does a great job of keeping your user name hidden most of the time, it’s understandable if your current username no longer works and needs to be changed desperately, even if that means creating a new account.

The problem with creating a completely new account is that you want to be able to transfer your data from your previous account, such as your current instant code, your instant score, your instant stripes, your best friends, your conversations, any trophies that you have obtained. friends that you added.

If you’re willing to give up all this and manually add friends to your new account, then it might be worth it. After all, creating a new account does not mean you have to delete your account immediately.

To add all your friends to your new account, you will need their usernames, which means that you must look at each of your friends’ user names individually. The problem is that with the most recent update of the application, it seems that there is no longer a dedicated place where you can see all the friends that you have already added.

There is still a way to see a list of all the names to show from your friends so you do not forget anyone, however, it can be a long time to search for each friend’s username and add it to your new account. If you are a game, here is how to do it:

a) Go to the conversations tab and touch the New chat button marked by the speech bubble and the plus sign icon.

b) Scroll through the best Friends, Recent and Groups to see a list of your friends in alphabetical order.

c) Write down each name individually or take several screenshots as you scroll through the list.

d) Touch the X in the upper right corner to cancel the new chat.

e) Press the magnifying glass icon at the top of the screen.

f) Find your first friend on your list, which will automatically appear near the top, since they are already friends.

g) Find the username that appears under your Name to display and write it (or record it in another way).

h) Repeat steps 7 through 7 for the display names of all the remaining friends.

i) Touch the X in the upper right corner to exit Search, tap your Bitmoji profile/icon and then tap the gear icon in the upper right corner.

j) Scroll down, touch Sign out and confirm that you want to sign out of your account.

5. Optional: create a new account and add your friends

Once you have disconnected, you can touch the blue Register button to create a new account with your new username.

Once you have completed the account setup process for your new account, you can touch the magnifying glass icon to look up your friends’ user names.

Take your list of friends’ user names that you met in step four and manually search each one. Touch + Add to add them.

Alternatively, if you know that many of your friends are already on your device’s contact list, you can synchronize your contacts with your account to add them in bulk and speed up the process.

Go back to the conversations tab, touch the person with a plus sign icon in the upper right corner and then touch Add contacts at the top.

On the next tab, follow the instructions to allow Snapchat to connect to your device contacts so that any contact with Snapchat is automatically added to your friend's list.
