Close or reactivate your Yahoo account.

You can close your Yahoo account at any time. Before doing so, review the following information to understand what this action means for your account and your data.

What happens after my account is closed?

You will lose access to all your data and content, such as your emails, email folders, Flickr photos, calendars, Yahoo Fantasy equipment, and Yahoo Finance wallets.

Review and download your Yahoo account information

  1. Find out how to download the data you want to keep.
  2. Access your Privacy Panel to see your account details.

Download your Flickr photos: you can only download your photos from your Flickr account.

Close your Yahoo account

Active Subscriptions: You can only close your account if you have no balance and 90 days have passed since you canceled subscriptions. Visit My subscriptions to cancel paid services and pay account balances.

  1. Sign in to the Yahoo account termination page.
  2. Read the information about the termination of your account.
  3. Use the on-screen prompts to continue.

Recover your Yahoo account

Your account will be reactivated if you log in within 30 days after closing, with longer waiting periods for accounts registered in Australia, India or New Zealand (90 days) and Brazil, Hong Kong or Taiwan (180 days).

  1. Login to your account.
  2. Verify your recovery information.
  3. Create a new password or click Continue.
