Close your Tumblr account

There are 2 ways to delete your Tumblr account, depending on whether or not it is linked to your Yahoo account. To find out which way you are, sign in to your Tumblr account, go to the settings page and search for the "Delete Account" button.

There is a "Delete Account" button

If you see the "Delete Account" button, follow the instructions to cancel or delete or deactivate your account.

Deletes your account or blog (Tumblr)

Before you do anything, keep in mind that deletion cannot be undone. Never ever. Once you've deleted your blog or account, its content has disappeared forever.

Deleting your account

To delete all of your accounts, go to your primary blog settings page or account settings page and click the "delete account" button at the bottom of the page. Be aware:

1. Your primary blog will be deleted. If TFA is enabled for your account, you must enter the code.
2. Increase your blogs that you are the only member of will be deleted and you will be removed from any group blog you are a member of.
3. Your blog's URL will be released and it can use anyone looking to create a blog.
4. You can create a new account with the same email address you used last. Hey, go for it.
5. At this time, you can only delete your account/blog in the browser (on your computer or on a mobile phone), rather than in the app.

Deleting a secondary/group blog

Here is how to delete a secondary or group blog: - 

1. On the web: Click on "Settings" in the account menu at the top of the board, then click on the name of the blog you want to delete or leave on the right side of the page. Click on "Remove blog" or "Leave blog" at the bottom of the screen.
2. On iOS: Touch the account icon (looks like a person), touch the name of your blog in the upper left corner, then swipe left on the blog you want to delete or leave and select "Delete" or "Leave ".
3. On Android: touch the account icon (looks like a person), touch the name of your blog in the upper left corner, touch the gear icon, then choose "Remove this Tumblr" or "Leave the group".

If you are the only member of the blog, choosing "Remove blog" will remove it from Tumblr and publish your URL for anyone to use. If there is at least one remaining member of the blog, you cannot delete it, but choosing "Leave Blog" will remove it from it. If you were the sole administrator of the blog, another member will be automatically promoted to Administrator.

There is no "Delete Account" button

If you don't see the "Delete Account" button, your Tumblr account is linked to your Yahoo ID. You must close your Yahoo account to delete your Tumblr account.
