Tag your face group

When you label your group of faces as "I", you:

  1. Get more personalized creations. For example, a movie that has pictures of you.
  2. Get a personalized search. You can search "me" to easily find photos of you.
  3. Let your contacts get suggestions to share with you. When your contacts take photos of you, they will receive a suggestion to share with you the photos they have of you.

Important Note: this function is not available in all countries. If available in your country, activate the function to use it.

On Computer/iPhone/Android

Confirm your contact group and let your contacts receive suggestions for sharing photos with you

If you select the "I" face tag, let the Google Photos app on your contacts' devices recognize your face. Then, Google Photos can send you suggestions to share the photos they have of you with you.

  1. On your computer/Android/iPhone, open photos.google.com.
  2. Click Menu Menu and then Settings.
  3. Next to "Group similar faces," click the down arrow. Down arrow.
  4. If you have not already done so, activate face grouping.
  5. Under "No face labeled as me," click Choose.
  6. Select your face Click OK This will automatically activate "Allow contacts to recognize your face".

Change or remove the "I" face tag

If you select the wrong face, you can change the label of the "I" face to the right face. You can also delete your face group, but you will get fewer custom creations and your contacts will not be able to recognize your face automatically in the photos.

  1. On your Device, open photos.google.com.
  2. Click Menu Menu and then Settings.
  3. Next to "Group similar faces," click the down arrow. Down arrow.
  4. Click on the face labeled as me.
  5. Select a face to confirm the correct group of faces, or click Delete and then Delete label.

Stop allowing contacts to get suggestions for sharing photos with you

Your contacts may not receive suggestions for sharing photos of you with you, but you will continue to receive personalized movies and animations.

  1. On your computer, open photos.google.com
  2. Click Menu Menu and then Settings.
  3. Next to "Group similar faces," click the down arrow. Down arrow.
  4. Disable Allow contacts to recognize your face.
