Losing access to your Instagram account can be very irritating, especially when you have gathered a considerable number of followers through sweat and tears, and then, one day, poof! Everything is gone. You may feel the need to break a wall, break a glass or just cry, ignore all that because you can only feel worse. So, what do you do if your Instagram account has been hacked? Do not worry, we are on your side and we will give you the power to recover what is yours.

Steps to follow to recover your Instagram account.

If your Instagram account has been blocked, it is likely that you have not activated the two-step verification option that verifies you through text messages and emails when you are about to change your password. If this is the case, your hacker must have changed the email address, password, phone number and even the name of the account associated with your account. Do not worry, just breathe and follow these steps.

Step 1: Do not panic. Panic will not solve anything, you will have to rationally think about how to recover your account and, therefore, you will need your own coordinated self. Once you are calm, go to step 2.

Step 2: Go to your pirated account and take screenshots Taking screenshots of your pirated Instagram account will help you recover it. Also, try not to lose sight of the fact that most hackers change the username very often to prevent the owner from monitoring it. You may need to call your friends who were your followers to help you follow him.

Step 3: Try to log in Once you are on the login screen, instead of completing your data, it is irrelevant at this time because, well, it has been hacked. Click on the blue button that says "get help to log in". This will take you to a purple screen. Now, enter your username and phone number that was initially affiliated with your account (before the cut). You will receive a message that says "we have sent an email to your address". Once you see this pop-up window, click on the "send me more help" button and you will be redirected to another purple screen.

On this purple "Request for support" screen, you will have the space to enter your email address, your contact information, the company, the brand or the name of the account page. You can also select the "I was hacked" option and complete the details of what happened and how you discovered that you were hacked. Next, you will have to wait for your answer and, once they do, you will receive an email requesting 3 specific things. These are:

• Evidence of what happened. This could be screenshots of your page before and after the hack.

• A clear photo of yourself holding a piece of visible paper. In this document, you will write the code that will be sent to you along with the email, your username and, finally, your email address.

• A summary of what happened.

Once you do this, it could take a few hours or a day before they respond. When they do, you will be sent a message stating that you have been verified and that you have reset the hacker's password. They will also inform you that they need to use a new username with a new password and follow the link they will send you. Once you log in through this link, you can change the username to your initial name and get your Instagram account with all of its content intact.

Once you follow these steps, your Instagram account will be yours again. But be sure to activate the two-step verification option this time to avoid future attacks.
