How to securely access Yahoo Mail?
By default, we block access to Yahoo Mail from obsolete applications that could leave your account vulnerable. If we send you an email stating that your application is using outdated security protocols or that you cannot log in from a previous application, you still have several options available.
If you try to use Yahoo Mail on an older email client that uses POP or IMAP, you may get a "Server password has changed" error message or an "Authentication failed" error message. This is because these email applications use outdated security protocols and we have now disabled access to them by default.
While changing applications or updating, you can give temporary access to the previous application. Just remember, this is not intended for permanent access and you will want to turn it off later. You will receive regular alerts that will remind you to turn it off after enabling this.
