How to Delete a Snapchat Account and How to Deactivate Snapchat
You may want to remove Snapchat for many reasons. Many were bothered by its recent redesign. Others were offended by their jokes about domestic violence or the self-esteem that it promoted. Add certain security issues and uninstalling Snapchat may seem like a good idea.
It was revealed that Snapchat is a potential threat of privacy larger than we previously thought. Snapchat has an internal application called SnapLion that was created to access private data in response to law enforcement requests. This includes everything from location data and saved photos (Snaps) to private contact information.
Former employees have reported that employees have abused the application to access private data for personal reasons several times. Not only has it been distributed to other departments for use for other reasons beyond the application of the law, but there have also been incidents when employees have used SnapLion to access saved photos of users or contact information.
How to delete the Snapchat account on your computer
You can delete your Snapchat account through the Accounts page:
After disabling your Snapchat, you still have 30 days to reactivate your account. To do so, simply log back into the Snapchat application with your username and password within these 30 days. You have to be patient since it sometimes takes up to 24 hours to reactivate an account.
To permanently delete your account, all you have to do is to refrain from logging into the application for 30 days after disabling your Snapchat. After this period, your Snapchat account will be gone mostly, but not completely. Snapchat’s privacy guidelines establish that they retain some personal information due to legal, security and commercial needs. This includes information about your purchases and the accepted terms of service.
