Connect Two Monitors to Laptop

When multiple monitors are connected to laptops, you experience the difference. By connecting them there is increased efficiency and above all improve in productivity too. But what is a way to connect external monitors to a laptop?  

Things to check before start:

Before discussing steps to how to connect two monitors to a laptop, you have to check out a few things such as the graphic card, ports.  Actually, most of Windows’ laptops support dual monitors now. But you have to make sure your laptop is able to carry the addition of external monitors.

All ready for starting the procedure of connecting two external monitors to your laptop. An important issue should be considered that while connecting the monitors, your laptop is turn on or off. Coming to the real point is Windows will detect when a new monitor is plugged in.

 Step 1:- First of all plug the cable of the first external monitor Plug the cable of the second external monitor to the other correct port on your laptop.

Step 2:- Next, plug the second external cable of the second external monitor to the other correct port on your laptop.

Step 3:- You have to right-click an empty area of your desktop, on your laptop. In case if you are using Windows 10, then click ‘Display settings’. While in the case of Windows 7/8 then clicks ‘Screen Resolution’.

Step 4:- Now you will find three displays labeled with 1, 2 and 3 in display mode. And, the display 1 is the monitor of your laptop and the display 2 &3 are external monitors.

Step 5:- Next, click the display 2, and select ‘Extend desktop’ to this display in multiple displays, later click ‘Apply’. 

Step 6:- Click the display 3 and choose ‘Extend desktop’ to this display in multiple displays and followed by clicking ‘Apply’.

Step 7:- Finally, Click ‘OK’ to finish the settings.

Thus, you got success in connecting dual monitors to your laptop.

IMPORTANT NOTE: According to your preference, you can click and drag each display (1, 2 or 3) to rearrange the display.  Along with this, you can also change the size of items, display resolution, and orientation also!
