Troubleshoot the Issue of DNS Server Not Available

 

When you try to connect to the internet and the connection gets failed while running the troubleshooter and if you get the error code i.e the device or resource is not responding, this is known as DNS error in technical language. If you keep facing this problem and still trying to find an answer for how to fix DNS Server not responding, then, goes through following troubleshooting steps:

 

1. Go to Start.

 

2. Click on Control Panel.

 

3. Select Network and Internet.

 

4. Go to Network and Sharing center.

 

5. Click on Change adapter settings.

 

6. You can see the list of Network Adapters.

 

7. Click on the Network Adapter that you use.

 

8. Right click on the Network Adapter to open Properties.

 

9. Select internet protocol version 4.

 

10. Click on Use the Following DNS server address.

 

11. Enter the preferred DNS server address and alternative DNS address.

 

12. Click on Validate settings.

 

13. Click on OK.

 

14. You are required to enter the same DNS address in the router configuration as well, you can take help of the manual.

 

You can also try these advanced troubleshooting steps if you still get the issue of DNS server not responding:

 

1. Click on Start.

 

2. In the Search section, you can type in CMD.

 

3. Hit Enter

 

4. Type IPCONFIG/ALL in the command prompt.

 

5. Check the physical address of the network adapter and note it down somewhere.

 

6. Go to Start again.

 

7. Type in NCPA.CPL

 

8. Now, right click on Network Adapter.

 

9. Go to Properties.

 

10. Click on Configure.

 

11. Now, go through the following steps:

 

  • Select the Advanced tab.
  • Click on Network Address.
  • Click on Value.
  • Type in the physical address that was prompted using step 5.
  • Click on OK and reboot the system.

 

12. Disable the firewall completely and check if it helps your connection.

 

Other troubleshooting steps that you can try use free DNS servers if the issue of DNS server not available persists:

 

1. Go to the Network Connections menu.

 

2. Click on Broadband Connection

 

3. Click on Properties so that you can view the content.

 

4. You can select Internet Protocol Version 4 that you can see in the Broadband Connection Properties.

 

5. Click on the Properties.

 

6. Click on Use the following DNS server address.

 

7. Now, add DNS server in the preferred and alternate DNS server address.

 

The above setting lets you use faster DNS servers and this may resolve the issue, however, other troubleshooting steps that you can use are:

 

1. Reset your device.

 

2. Check the internet connection and check if there is an intact physical connection between device and peripherals.

 

3. Delete Unnecessary Anti -Virus Program
