Snapchat has taken the world by storm, from the silly pictures that people like to send each other, to the brief speeches sent by politicians to users around the world. It does not matter what you use Snapchat for, here we explain how to use the popular mobile application on a Windows PC.
In case you are living under a rock, Snapchat allows you to send photos and videos (often useless) to your contacts. The images are often seen for a limited time, while the videos are played from start to finish unless your contact has had enough of you about the bus schedules in England.
According to Evan Spiegel, Snapchat’s CEO, the application has more than 100 million daily users, who spend around 25 to 30 minutes per day on it. Unfortunately, the application was limited only to your phone, until Bluestacks appeared and allowed Snapchat to be used in its free Android emulator, hoorah!
Making the Bluestacks work on your computer is very simple, just download the 298MB file from your website, run the installer and now you will have the emulator installed.
Go through the configuration process and link the Bluestacks application to your Google account that you will need when configuring any Android device. Once the settings are complete, go to the Play Store and download Snapchat.
To use Snapchat, you will need a camera on your computer. However, you can see the Snaps of other people and also the stories of your contacts (as long as you are connected to the Internet). Keep in mind that a computer without a camera will indicate several errors, but if you click continuously on ‘Cancel’, you can use Snapchat, without having to connect a camera, of course, you can not do it. Take any Snaps yourself.
If you have a camera, simply click on the center button of the application to take a picture, or keep it pressed to record a video. You will need a microphone for this, but since most cameras nowadays have a built-in microphone, it should not be a problem.
Go ahead, Snapchat torments your friends and family with photos and videos.
